MARKING AND READING

Introducing a barcode to mark documents, goods and fixed assets enables unambiguous identification of each item and control over where it is currently located, its status or who is responsible for it.

The use of Auto ID technology ensures the efficiency of warehouse management, efficient completion and execution of orders and the inventory process.

The correct marking of goods with barcodes is crucial for the proper performance of further logistical operations. With a view to simplifying and increasing the level of automation of this process, a whole range of label printers has been created. From small, portable devices allowing printing on the spot, to large industrial machines automatically labeling all goods leaving the production line. The proper selection of the printing method and the material from which the labels are made guarantees the durability and reliability of the labeling.

Barcode readers allow the code to be scanned and the information it contains to be sent to a computer. A wide range of devices is available, offering different technologies of code reading, depending on their applications.

Data terminals are dedicated to carry out the electronic inventory. The stocktaking process consists of reading and memorizing the codes, after which the data is sent to the system, where it is verified on the basis of fixed asset records or accounting inventory.

BENEFITS:

  • streamlining warehouse processes

  • unification of labels to facilitate communication with suppliers/customers

  • compliance

  • error elimination

ACCESS CONTROL

In institutions that need to restrict access to a building or part of it, one of the most important aspects is a high level of security.

The implementation of an efficient automated access control system is based, among other things, on the use of identification cards and card readers and biometric technologies. Personalization of cards on the spot allows to maintain an appropriate level of data security, eliminating the need to transfer them to external companies.

Modern plastic card printers offer a number of possibilities in this respect, i.e. personalization and programming of various types of proximity, chip, or magnetic strip cards, and card coating with a laminate with additional protection, e.g. a hologram. A breakthrough solution is the "tactile impression" function patented by Entrust, i.e. printing a seal protecting the card against forgery.

The use of badges makes it possible to control the movement of persons within an institution and to immediately detect any access violations.

BENEFITS:

  • building access control,

  • granting differentiated rights to employees and visitors,

  • increase security of information, property, people,

  • Possibility of integration with other systems, e.g. work time registration or system logging.

AUTOMATIC DATA ENTRY ID

Modern Auto ID technologies mean not only marking and identification of goods, but also full automation of data entry into the systems. Devices operating in OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology enable processing of scanned text into digital form. OCR readers read content from any document such as ID card, passport, driver's license. In addition, they detect false documents, read 1D and 2D codes from proximity cards and biometric passports, and allow recording of photos.

One implementation allows for significant acceleration of the process of entering or verifying documents in the database, as well as elimination of errors resulting from e.g. misspelled names or PESEL numbers.

BENEFITS:

  • efficient data entry

  • completeness of data in the system

  • error elimination

SECURE WIRELESS NETWORKS

Wireless and convenient access to corporate WLAN and Internet is nowadays a key condition of efficient operation in any institution. In places such as banks, offices, police stations, where "sensitive" data is transmitted via the network, it becomes particularly important not only that the network is continuously available in every point of the building, but also that it is secure and resistant to attacks both from the outside and from the inside.

The solution is to build a wireless network based on a central controller and dependent access points controlled by it. This streamlines network configuration and diagnostics, while automatic reporting keeps track of all potential threats.

The solutions offered by Koncept-L are among the most advanced on the market. The systems detect both attempts to enter the network from outside and foreign access points within it. They can automatically respond to threats, eliminating them by remotely disconnecting the client or hostile access point. The points themselves, which are also sensors, constantly listen to the network and report suspicious activity. A system of self-diagnostics regulates the signal strength of individual devices so that they do not jam each other and cover the entire desired area with stable coverage.

BENEFITS:

  • stability of network access

  • Security - PCI certification support

  • automatic detection functions

  • management convenience

  • automatic reports.

LetUGO AUTOMATIC VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM

LetUGo is a complete application to automate vehicle inspection. The integrated license plate recognition kit works based on a high-end camera and a special parking system that supports it. The camera reads the license plate number of the approaching vehicle and then the system compares it with the database records and opens the barrier. LetUGo is perfect for places where it is necessary to limit access to a specific group of vehicles (e.g. company parking lot) without involving additional staff. The ability to create a "black" and "white list" of vehicles, complete an hourly log of vehicles entering and leaving and record events along with vehicle photos - further enhances the functionality of the system and improves security.

BENEFITS:

  • no remote controls, no access codes

  • increasing traffic flow

  • vehicle information database

  • convenient, intuitive application

PILOT SOLUTIONS FOR THE ARMY

With the help of tools for automatic identification, we have the ability to accurately control the flow of materials and monitor the current state of inventory. Effectively integrated system facilitates the recording of materials, while allowing for easy control and management of resources. An example of a complete solution based on this type of technology is the pilot project our company has created for the uniform store of the 2nd Regional Logistics Base. By introducing a set of hardware solutions such as data terminals Zebra MC3190, scanners Zebra DS3508 and label printers Zebra GX420d an effective infrastructure was created that solves existing problems with warehouse operations.

The key objective of this complex system was to improve the flow of material resources within 2RBLog and support its logistic processes. Until now, all tasks were performed manually, with an enormous amount of human effort. This, in turn, prolonged the processes, and the effects of work were very often not free from defects and errors. The advantage of the newly created platform is the simplification of the procedure of receipt and issue of products. In addition, a significant facilitation of the inventory process has been achieved while eliminating common errors.

The diagram below illustrates how the system works.

In practice, the platform, based on information about Items of Uniform and Outfit (hereinafter referred to as PUiW) defined by a decision of the Ministry of National Defense, specifies the type and number of equipment to which each soldier is entitled. The product database is updated with newly-delivered products by marking each of them with a Uniform Material Index (JIM) in the form of a barcode tag. Products delivered from the manufacturer have a specific GTIN code which, when scanned with a Zebra DS3508 reader, is transmitted to a host computer. The host computer then creates a record of product receipt and sends a label print command to the Zebra GX420d printer. Labels with the JIM number are then attached to the products.

In turn, the issuance of uniforms and equipment begins with the receipt of an "order to issue" PUiW for a given soldier. This is the moment of verification of the soldier's needs with the information contained in the system. Then the data terminal Zebra MC3190 indicates the location of the item of equipment to facilitate its finding. Then the code placed on the equipment is read, and data about the downloaded product is automatically sent to the main computer. In addition, the terminal prints three copies of the download confirmation (warehouse, uniform section and recipient) and generates an automatic e-mail to the uniform section. Information to the uniform section is sent for subsequent automatic posting of the issuance operation and debiting the soldier's account for the issued products. In this way the collected uniforms or equipment can be safely transferred to the specified soldier without any mistakes.

BENEFITS:

  • simplifying processes

  • accelerating the inventory

  • elimination of errors in the recording of materials

  • reducing staff involvement in warehouse processes
