M10 Carelink

Carelink M10 is a medical PDA from Newland. It is not bigger than a standard smartphone. It is a mobile computer dedicated to the medical industry. The main feature that distinguishes this device from competitive solutions is the use of a housing made of material resistant to strong disinfectants. Hospitals are a place where disinfection of equipment is extremely common practice.

In addition, the M10 is resistant to falls from a height of 1.22 m and has an IP67 protection level. This means that the equipment can operate in high dust and be submerged in water. All these solutions are designed to ensure the reliability of the equipment and protect the efficient components that are hidden inside the device.

The heart of the device is a 2 GHz octro-core processor, supported by 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of flash memory, and if necessary, it can be expanded with a memory card up to 128 GB. All this controlled by the Android 9.0 system makes the device extremely efficient and intuitive to use. The 4800 mAh battery allows for a whole day of uninterrupted operation, and charging is done as in a classic smartphone - through a USB-C input.

All of this has been accommodated in a small casing measuring 157x76.3x12.6 mm. The M10 is therefore an extremely compact device, and special attention should be paid to its thickness - given the strength of the device and the presence of a built-in barcode reader, this is an amazingly small value.

On the upper edge of the device there is a built-in barcode reader, capable of reading 1D and 2D codes. This functionality, combined with the patient tagging system, allows quick identification of the patient by scanning the code placed on his wristband.

The wristbands can be personalized and created immediately during patient registration using dedicated printers.

This forward-looking solution allows quick access to the patient's card, while minimizing the risk of errors. It is one of the elements of a system of intelligent solutions successfully implemented in hospitals around the world.
