SD100 Orion

SD 100 Orion is a mobile computer designed for use in hospitals, clinics, laboratories and pharmacies. Durable, lightweight and ergonomic design of the tablet provides high comfort of work for medical personnel and many years of use of the equipment itself.

LED backlit screen with a diagonal of 10 inches is characterized by high quality of image displayed in resolution 1920 x 1200 WUXGA. Free movement of the system is enabled by a five-point, capacitive touch screen and mechanical keyboard equipped with 12 keys. Native device is based on Android 7.1, but upgrades automatically to Oreo 8.1, so anyone, even untrained user can use the tablet without major problems. Thanks to the use of an accelerometer and optional gyroscope, the computer automatically orientates the displayed image in horizontal or vertical mode, which greatly increases the comfort of use.

The heart of the tablet is an eight-core 1.8/2.2GHz processor, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, which provides the highest level of performance and low power consumption (no less than 10 hours of intensive work on one battery charge). The device has 2 GB RAM and 16 GB ROM as standard.

The SD5670's integrated proprietary 1D/2D scanning module ensures correct patient identification, enabling the reading of any type of code, including Aztec, Codabar, Code128 or Datamatrix, and optical text recognition (OCR). The device provides audible, light and vibrating notification when the code is read correctly. In turn, the built-in HF/UHF RFID reader, with a reading range of up to 5 m, enables quick inventory of drug cabinets, samples or, if wristbands are used, with an RFID tag identifying the patient.

With an integrated Dual-Band WiFi module (IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n 2.4 GHz 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.1 BLE and SIM 4G LTE technology, the Newland SD 100 Orion medical tablet offers continuous connectivity in any environment. Wireless communication technologies used in the Newland SD 100 Orion tablet have been certified by Cloud Credential Council and Cloud Technology Associate. GPS transmitters and receivers (compatible with Beidou and GLONASS), allow to use the device for geolocation.

Remote viewing of laboratory results and communication with members of clinical teams is possible using integrated cameras (rear 13 MPx camera with LED flash, front 5 MPx camera), dual stereo speakers and microphone. To increase data transfer capabilities, the computer is equipped with a micro-SD (TF) card input, supporting cards with a maximum capacity of up to 128GB, as well as a USB C-type connector and 3.5 mm audio jack. Communication can be further expanded through an external Pogo interface (USB, serial port, IIC, power).

The device's compact size (245 x 176 x 17.4 cm) and light weight (800 g) make it easy to carry with you at all times. For this reason, the Newland SD 100 Orion has a very high mechanical resistance. The device has been tested for resistance to a thousand drops from a height of 1 meter to concrete, leaving the test unscathed. The IP65 enclosure's protection certificate makes the device practically fully spill-proof, moreover, it can be cleaned with alcohol and other public cleaning agents. The manufacturer also notes the high tolerance for ambient temperature, the manufacturer states that both when operating in a twenty-stage frost and heat up to 60 °C, the device will not be damaged by extreme temperatures.
